Combatting Complacency
Complacency is a "silent killer" in organizations. It impacts safety, quality, and productivity on a daily basis. AND, our brains are wired for complacency. As we build routines and structure, our minds form more efficient pathways to conserve energy - and we become complacent with what we assume is the familiar. Complacency needs to be understood, identified, uncovered (root cause) and combatted both individually and as a team.
Without an organizational program to combat complacency, it will continue to kill silently.
